John Utendahl was the owner of the Utendahl Group, one of the largest African American-owned investment banking groups in the United States. Mr Utendahl earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus and acquired an MBA from Columbia University. A veteran on Wall Street, Utendahl ran the most successful minority-run investment bank in the United States until its final days in 2009. With an estimated net worth of over $10 million, Utendahl was regularly recognized for his quick thinking and charm. Due to the economic decline, John Utendahl's broker dealer, Utendahl Capital Partners, went out of business on January 31, 2010. Williams Capital Group assumed what was left of the now defunct company. Mr. Utendahl is currently only a minority stake-holder in Utendahl Capital Management, a small fixed income asset management firm.
